About us

I’ve been working in childcare education for 7 years, and through this time I’ve also been enrolled at Highline College taking Early Childhood Education classes. Through working in different centers and going to school, I’ve gotten the opportunity to learn and grow. I have many different trainings in Creative Curriculum, Handing Challenging Behaviors, Teaching Science to Preschoolers, Safe Sleep, and many more.

My Family and Background

I am a mother of two little boys, one named Emmanuel and the other on the way. I’m also married to my husband Cristian. I’m fluent in both English and Spanish, but while working with many families from all over the world I’m starting to catch on different words for different languages. I’ve been working in childcare since 2015 but while I was in high school, I would baby sit for different families. It has been at times stressful and amazing working full-time and going to school. I’m very grateful in the opportunities I have been giving to learn and grow in the early childhood education.

Curriculum

Curriculum Philosophy, Implementation and Program Description

At Watch Me Grow we believe that children learn through play and experiences, while also molding the way they think and interact with one another. Our role as an educator is to provide children with materials, activities, resources, experience, and learning, so that the children can become successful. The participation in parents, and guardians, is also important as together we can all support your child’s growth and needs. At Watch Me Grow our goal for the curriculum is to observe the children in Social - Emotional, Physical, Language, and Cognitive development and learning but also incorporating dual language learning. We support this development and learning by providing different activities to meet your child’s need. We provide a wide range of art projects, group activities, cooking projects, gardening, ext. Watch Me Grow care for children from infancy (4weeks) to 5 years of age. We provide a wide range of activities for children. For infants we support their growth by providing tummy time, signing song, slowly introducing solids (when and only when parent approves and is ready to start solid), reading picture books, and so much more. For toddlers we provide the children with more active activities from running, coloring, painting, pretend play. For preschoolers we provide opportunities for self-independence throughout play, group time, and activities at the table. We help the children learn to advocate for themselves, they’ll learn how to share and take turns. The children learn how to use lifelong skills like, Social -Emotional, Physical, Language, Literacy, and Mathematics. Each child’s learning process will be different, but we are here to support each child’s learning. At Watch Me Grow we provide materials from different cultures in the classroom. You (parents, guardians, and family’s member) are also welcomed to bring anything from your culture in our classroom, because we want the children to feel safe, special, and loved. We provide activities, books, pictures, for our dual language learners so your child feels welcomed in our classroom. We also provide activities, books, pictures, sensory play for children with special needs. We want all the children to feel safe and loved by everyone. At Watch Me Grow we believe in guiding children in their learning, but we also understand that not all learning methods are the same for each child. This is why we will provide different methods and activities to meet each child learning goal. Throughout this time, we will be providing time for each child to socially interact with one another, while also guiding their interaction. We understand the importance of play for a child’s learning, this is why we provide multiple times throughout the day for their playing. This helps them with Social – Emotional, Physical, Language, Literacy, and Mathematics. In each of the areas in the classroom, the materials we provide is for you child’s learning in each of the core areas. We understand infants and toddlers need consistent, nurturing relationships with our caregivers. This is why we planned our daily schedule around them.
